It all began with a Conch Shell. What has evolved to become the Cyber Island Shops sites you see today started in a small Orlando seashell shop in 1996. Our first site was a humble two page website filled with information on seashells. The idea was to promote our retail store to tourists coming to Orlando prior to their visit. However, the day after the site launched we received our first call from a site visitor who wanted to know if we had a certain conch shell in stock and could mail it to him in Michigan. Well, after a few more calls like that we decided that we might be able to supplement our store sales with a few web orders here and there. Within a year, secure e-commerce options were added and the site gradually increased the over 1,200 pages of products including nautical and coastal décor items.

By 1999 the website was outperforming the retail store, so the decision was made to close the store and focus on web development. Within the year, the original site was divided into three distinctly separate sites, SeashellWorld.com, NauticalSupplyShop.com and IslandWeddingShop.com. In 2000, two new websites, IslandChristmasShop.com and CoastalDecorShop.com were launched to address product requests received by visitors on the existing sites. In 2001, the business was incorporated as Cyber Island Shops, Inc. with a mission of developing and marketing niche market products to the resort lifestyle market. SandTrapGifts.com, a site for golf home décor products was our first foray outside of the nautical theme launched in 2002. It was followed a year later by FairytaleWeddingShop.com, a theme wedding specialty site.  

Today, Cyber Island Shops has served over 50,000 wonderful customers. Our unique products have been used as props in numerous film, television and print projects as well as display and décor pieces in museums, national retail chains and major theme park attractions. We continue to search for the most unique and distinctive products for each of our sites and as always, we strive to offer you the best customer service experience we can.
